Can anyone tell me the maximum current that could be taken by a Phosphor Bronze pin (CuSn6) with a section 0.5mm x 0.25mm. Is this a pheasible calculation, or would it be dependant on a string of other conditions. Excuse my ignorance but I am a mechanical engineer very limited experience of electical / electronics engineering.

Thanks,

Terry.

It would depend on a few other things. For example, the acceptable temperature rise would affect this. The acceptable voltage drop would affect it. If it's a connector, it's probably more related to the mating faces of the pin to pin contact.

Many thanks for replies, I will see if I can get this information from the end user.

Terry.
