Hi,

COSMOS tech support was unable to help as COSMOSDesignStar 2007 that was installed in my computer does not show Analysis tab when I start the program. The program worked fine since I used last time about 9 months ago. I have since re-installed the program two times but to no avail. Only the SolidWorks menus are present. License is valid and is not a problem. COSMOS installed in another computer works fine except my computer. Any help would be appreciate it.

Dangerous if you don't know what you do, but from similar problems with other software, I could advise that you uninstall and then edit/clean the registry from any Cosmos DS related entries. Then re-install DS.

Start > regedt32 > current user, software, etc.

Good luck (ask for assistance if not sure)

I completely uninstalled COSMOS and clean the registery but still not working. My IT person ended up installing in the virtual pc and it worked. COSMOS must be clashing with other applications in my computer IT person thinks.

well, thats easily tested, isnt it?
I mean try to close as many apps via taskbar (Ctrl+Alt+Del)» processes (easy way is to rightclick explorer.exe and choose close process structure (you might have to close other running processes manual)
And then start SW with file (taskbar menu) » new task » browse and find your SW shortcut.

This also comes in handy when you want to have exclusive system support for 1 process say SW.
And if thats the desire, you might want to rightclick SolidWorks.exe in processes tab and select priority » higher than normal
Common sense - anyhows, hope it may be of any service

I had a similar issue.

When I started SW, I would get some tools and not others. It turned out to be some wierdness with the add-ins and the order they were taking licenses.

Our company has different quantities of licenses for various features. In my case, I had both CosmosWorks Adv. Pro and CosmosMotion selected to load on start. I could use motion, but not Cosmos Analysis tools. I had to uncheck both add-ins from the add-ins menu, and then load them selectively after SW starts. If I start Motion first, I can't analyze, but if I start Cosmos first, THEN motion, they both work fine... This was with '08, but I'd almost put money that its similar.
