For small areas of cad plating that have worn, or been machined, off of steel and nickel-aluminum-bronze (e.g. bushings), what are folks seeing done to protect the surface without having to re-cad plate?

Could you tell us more about "brush cadmium plating"? Do you have material and application specification references by chance?

Thanks.

Actually, let me adjsut the question... a quick google brought up a lot of info... what spec seems to be the aero industry standard for this process?

The Iridite made the US Navy happy for ship-board stuff back in the days when I was building stuff for the Navy.

Standards:

AMS 2451/4B --Plating, Brush, Cadmium Corrosion Protective, Low Hydrogen Embrittlement

AMS-QQ-P-416 --Plating, Cadmium (Electrodeposited)

MIL-STD-865D Selective Brush Plating, Electro-Deposition
