Over covid when the office was working from home I switched users reuse to C:\Reuse location for speed. We found that for some reason when other users opened these files the hardware was lost and unloaded. Trying to make a journal file to correct this but have been unsuccessful. All users had copy of resue on C:\Reuse and I would like to switch it back to the common network location we used in the past U:\STANDARDS. This problem went away as we switched to Teamcenter but recently came back as as-built drawings need to be addressed. The files were done in NX 2306 Native.

To be honest i do not really follow you here...
When running NX Native , it's the Load options dialog / settings that will "search" the files .
I'm not sure all are aware of the ability / how this works :
The order of the named directories is the search order.
"C:\projects\" will search this directory but not subdirectories
"C:\projects\..." will search this directory and all subdirectories

NX will stop searching when it has found all files which means that if one includes the "..." it should be the last search.
i.e the following is the stupid order since the first line includes everything on that drive : ( will take time)
"
C:\...
C:\projects\
"

In Teamcenter, there are no such directory searching.
Either NX finds the file or not.
It can be many reasons why it does not find the file , access is one.

You've probably checked this, but are your Assembly Load Options set correctly?

Just asking because I have a lot of legacy assemblies which were purposely structured with components located in the same folder, for portability purposes. Now, my current assemblies are using custom reuse parts. It's a pain to remember to switch my load options back and forth, so I'm trying to figure out a way for NX know this when opening an assembly, perhaps with NX Open.

Sorry i didn't provide enough info initially. Our load options are by default set to "as saved". Everything else is fine as cad data is on the network drive just the hardware errors out as it was set to the individuals C:\reuse. So easiet way would be to set the search folder to U:\STANDARDS\ and try opening again? Was hoping maybe a jounral could be created that would change the search folder and select only the unloaded parts. Once this is correct a save should fix the problem in the future. This is how we have been manually correcting. Would be nice to do a mass fix.
