core balance CT?

hi all
could the core blance CT (eart foult protection ) detect the unblance in phases current or it's detect the leackage only?
what is the reasonse of staturation of core balnce ct?and is it useful to shot CT pole to dischare the saturation?

Core-balance CT detect only earth faults and not detect unbalnce in the feeder.

The core balance CT measures the zero sequence current in the conductors enclosed. If there is unbalance where there is return through a neutral that isn't included in the CBCT, then the CBCT will respond to unbalance.
