Hi
We have recently moved to Pro/E, previously using Visi from Vero. Visi has been doing machining since DOS days, and is excellent. When I compare it to Pro/E, Pro/E falls way short (although I must admit I am still learning Pro/E's machining module!) One downside to Visi is that it is not parametric.
Using Visi, you don't get dips or spikes in your machining, and you also have something called rest material machining, where you can finish corners not able to be cleaned out with previous cutters, and once it starts machining, it hardly ever leaves contact until it finishes the corner. In Pro/E there is local milling by previous tool, but it doesn't compare!
We machined something in Pro/E, and all looked fine until we visualised on VeriCut, and saw it machining into the side, and then posted out and checked in another progran call WNSEE, and showed the same machining into the side! As I said, just learning the machining module, so maybe we have missed a setting somewhere?
