Conveyor belt truss inspection and check list

Anybody has a good checklist for structural engineering inspection of steel truss of the conveyor belts - materila handeling

I get lost in field and don't know how to keep track of what i see and how to mark them properly so when I am back in office I can located the problem

Any method or checklist can help me. I do not have field expereince.

Take a camera to the site and take as many photos as you need to get the whole picture. It is amazing how much detail you can forget when you get back to the office.

Make a sketch of the truss, with numbered joints, then reference your notes to the numbers.

better yet, take a can of paint or grease pencil, mark the truss inspection locations with numbers, take photos including the numbers and then mark the numbers on the record drawings. all comments on your inspection should refer to the numbered location. anything less is a waste of everybody's time since you can't go back and find anything
 
We use post it notes / sharpie or a dry erase board for the photos. Make accurate sketches and label sections via the drawings before you get onsite.
