I have a road project with plan and pro sheets in model/paper space in Autocad R14 and need to convert them to Microstation J. Numerous attempts and just can't get it right. I am told it can be done but nobody I deal with knows how. Any help would be great. TIA, KLV

This should be a simple task.
Basically go into MicroStation J, at the bottom change the filter from DGN to DWG, and click to the DWG and open.
.
If you wish to BIND the files in MicroStation, then you need to open a "BLANK" file in MicroStation. Go to file> import> DWG. Point to the file and click ok. Before clicking OK again go through the options as to how to handle the XREFs.
.
You may need to "EXPLODE" your elements in AutoCAD *** BEFORE *** the translation. BURST would be a better command to use in AutoCAD. "Burst" is a form of EXPLODE ... it just has more control over the elements than normal EXPLODE.
.
Hope that helps.

Thanks rKeyTek. I "burst" the ref file then bound it in ACAD before opening in MS. Then used sheet file in MS and it worked beautifully. Thanks again. KLV
