Controller and mobile

Hi, can someone please suggest me on how can an existing controller be connected to an app in mobile both of which would not be in the same network?

And you're asking this without giving us even the slightest hint of what that "existing controller" might be, and what this mysterious "app" might be, and what "networks" you might be using?

I can assure you that a Flintstone-era Fanuc RJ2 robot controller cannot connect to the Facebook app on an Android phone via a land-line telephone network.
