Greatings,

Do you guys know if it is possible to combine thermal and
contact analysis?

Two plates make the model, the lower one is made of magnesium
and the top one made of durostone (composite material used for thermal
barrier).

At the moment when I put together the two plates, using an
assembly, they behave as if the 2 surfaces in contact are

Hi,

Pro/Mechanica cannot handle thermomechanical coupling type problems. It is not allowed to define a thermal conductance of a contacting part. So, to date there is no such development in mechanica in that respect.

You may use other codes if possible, for example ANSYS, ABAQUS...
