Hi,
I want to study a C beam of an airplane. This beam is composed by a sandwich of carbon/epoxy, and a wire of carbon disposed in the bottom of the C beam with epoxy. How can i contact the 2 materials. I would like to use contact function but i don t know how to use this function.
Thank you,
David

The only way to model sth. like a contact is thru gap elements. They work like a spring infinite stiffness when the parts have contact an without or extremely small stiffness if there is no contact.
But I would not recommend odelling contacts in Nastran. I prefer solvers like Permas or Abaqus.
