Connection Design for Uplift on I Beam

Hi,

I am having an uplift force of 14k at the support on a cantilever steel beam.
The beam is not failing. The supports are going to be HSS 3x3x1/4.I am planning to use cap plate and (4) bolted connection between HSS and I beam flange. Should I consider anything other than tension on bolts when designing the connection ?

No! Bolts can only be in tension. There is no shear.
Bending of the cap plate and beam flange would need to be considered of course.

Also my other question related with this is that since the direction of assumed Seismic or Wind Force will affect O.T on beam as compression and tension, as a result of that this will affect the load on columns supporting that beam. So when designing a beam for this case, should these two affects be considered for the columns selection ?

Your last question is not clear to me. Perhaps a sketch would be helpful. O.T. on beam means overturning of beam? Any seismic or wind load acting on the beam affects the beam and must be considered in the design. If it affects the column, it must be considered in the selection of column too. Reduction factors may be applicable when combined with other loads.
