Concrete Security Wall for Vehicle Impact

I am looking for advice on the design of reinforced concrete security walls designed to stop an 2000kg vehicle travelling at 50kph. Is there any available design guidelines for this topic? I am basically estimating the deceleration to determine the impact load and then designing a wall to resist sliding overturning and shearing due to the load. I applied dynamic increase factors to material strengths to account for the rate of loading however I still feel this is overly conservative. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks Ralph,

I did search the forums prior to my post and I had previously found two of your suggested links. Even after reading them, though they were helpful, they were not entirely what I was looking for. I understand most of these barriers are crash tested to be certified for stopping a vehicle of a certain weight going a certain speed. We have bollards and reinforced concrete security walls, some of which are also retaining walls. I was hoping to find out any information on suggested factors of safety against overturning and sliding. For example, is designing a security wall using the impact force for an overturning factor of safety of 2 and sliding of 1.5 realistic? Also, I imagine the passive pressure of the soil will increase under a high rate of loading.

Try a search for these publications:

FEMA 427,
FM 3-19.30 (US Army),
FTA-TRI-MA-26-7085-05, or
MIL-HDBK-1013/1A (US Army)

The FTA manual is very good. I couldn't upload it for you due to a server error.
