I wonder if any of you could advise/help regarding the flat plate IMRF design and detailing. I know that (ACI 318- Ch. 21) provides some recommendations but, Actually, I found some engineers designing the slab under grvity loads only (1.2 D + 1.6 LL), Then to place the required reinforcement for the earthquake loads at the effective width that does not match with the (ACI requirements).
