I'm looking at a design for a detached garage and putting together some cost estimates. Just curious - what does placed and finished concrete cost in your area? I'm thinking around $200/cu yd and I'm in the southeastern US.

Mono slab (det Garage) ~$4.5 Sqft

Call a few subs

Residential on-grade mono slab, 4 inches thick. No reinforcement in the pad and only in the footers. Grading, footer steel, subbase material is estimated separately.

I've ordered the RS Means construction costs 2012 but it hasn't arrived yet.

Concrete runs about $90 a cubic yard here - assuming you use the whole truck. Delivery might be extra. Figure about $60-70 per hour per worker.

I am in St. Louis.

CAll a local concrete finishing company and ask for an estimate based on your square footage.

Flatwork is about $4 per square feet in the midwest.
