Concrete Bouncing Ball 1

Hi guys,

I'm really sorry if this has come up before but I'm still new to FEA.

I'm trying to model a concrete ball, making contact due to gravity with a rigid surface, i.e. bouncing. My major problem is the interaction between the 'ball' and the 'floor'.

Any help, advice or thoughts would be appreciated more than you could imagine.

Here are some of the steps that are more unique to your situation.
1. Use explicit
2. create geometry of ball and floor
3. general contact
4. initial velocity of ball

What is the end goal? The rebound or damage due to the drop are probably sensitive to the material properties of the ball and floor. Once you are farther along the forum will be more help. I hope this helps.

Thanks for that Rob.

The end goal is to try and develop the material/reinforcement to try and produce a concrete 'ball' that is capable of bouncing. In theory, it should be "bouncy concrete". I understand that the material properties will be the biggest issue, but you have given me a great start.
