The Korean law states that the all storage tanks for dangerous chemicals(**see below) of over 1,000 KL capacity must be inspected internally every 10 years.
The inspection includes,

1) The welding seams of the bottom plate must be inspected using non-destructive test method.(15% of all welding seams)
2) The thickness of the bottom plate must be checked.
3) Inspectors must enter the tank for vacuum box test.

The above routine inspection is compulsory.
I'd like to know that this kind of law exists in other country.

Many thanks in advance.

The 'law' does not require inspection in the UK - but insurance companies often do.

We have generalised health and safety legislation including 'failure to protect an employee (or visitor)' etc.

The general recoomendation of BS4994 (plastics vessels) is that they should receive in-service integrity testing and inspection.

Trust this helps

Dear ED

Thank you very much for your kind reply.
We have to empty and clean the concentrated nitric acid storage tanks during next year.
The two tanks are made of aluminum and 1,500MT, 2,000MT each.
I'm looking for an expert who will carry out the emptying and cleaning work of concentrated nitric acid tank.
If you have any info on an expert in this field, please let me know.

Have a nice day.
