Hi

it has been observed that the secondary edge beam twisted/buckled (approx 20mm) during construction. the beam is supporting metal decking with shear connectors @ 300mm centres. I understand that the metal deck will provide some sort of restraint to the top flange, but question is that: can one assume Fully laterally restraint and use steel section capacity?? if an intermediate restraint is required what would be a simple and cost effective solution?

Appreciate your help.

would love a photo or two, is it buckled or just rotated. There is torsion in the beams, however compatibility torsion is normally used to justify not providing the full strength, however 20mm sounds large.
