Hi,

I'm a new user of Nastran. I compare Samcef and Nastran results of the bending of a composite plate (skin-core-skin). I have some problems with stresses.
The model is simple : a vertical force (parallel to Z-axis) is applied on an edge of a plate (the plate is in the XY plane) and the opposite edge is fixed. I use CQUAD4 and PCOMP.

1) I've easily identified each ply stress in the XY plane (normal X, normal Y and shear XY). This values are given at the middle of the thickness of each ply. Is it possible to have also this stresses at Z1 and Z2 of each plies ?

2) The XZ and YZ shear stresses given for each ply are the interlaminar shear stress, not the stresses inside the ply. All the stresses given inside the core (X, Y and XY) are 0, I want to compare shear stress inside the core to allowable shear strength of it. Is it possible to have the transverse shear stresses inside each ply ? How ?
Is the only solution to model that in 3D ?

Thanks for your help,
Florence
