Has someone worked with both materials to know if they really has the exaclty same mechanical characteristics after hardening??

I have been using 20MnCrTi from China and I have checked that is the exactly same composition than 16MnCr5 exept that the first one has a very little small content of Titanium. The second one no.

I cannot answer your question about hardening but are you sure about the abbreviations? 20MnCrTi and 16MnCr5? I cannot find these materials but from the numbers "20", "16" and "5" I doubt that these two alloys have the same chemical composition. Where did you find the compositions?

I made a mistake about the first name.

The correct one is 20CrMnTi.

16MnCr5 containes a little bit less carbon and a little bit more Manganese. That's it (apart from the Titanium content).
