I am trying to model a reinforced rubber part (a tire). The rubber parts are brick elements. The body ply textile reinforcements cannot be done as a composite or membrane, since the orthotropy of the reinforcement changes with respect to the global coordinates as you move around the tire. I have tried using truss elements to build the model. The brick elements were generated by rotating the geometry with join, and the truss elements by using rotate without join. The simple load case of inflation pressure shows some of the truss elements having infinite displacement at a few nodes. How can I ensure that the nodes of the trusses are connected to the nodes of the brick elements within which they are embedded?
