Combine 2 imported drawings into 1 drawing?

Hi - new guy here...

I'm looking to use DraftSight to import separate .dxf files from a land surveying program (task done), AND then combine the 2 into one drawing (not accomplished) that can be exported as a single .pdf (I have .pfd'd imported single files).

Any insights into combining imported files?

Can you not open both files and then simply copy & paste one into the other?
You may have to turn the one to be copied into a block first, for easier placement.
