Color effects on surface

Hello,

I am going to design a ratchet.

For the handle i need your help.

How can I put two textures on a surface?

I want to make it something like on the picture.

A blue and black texture on the handle.

I was hoping if I project a sketch on the surface , I can assign the range ( in my picture a circle ) an extra texture.

It didn't work out. :-(

divide the surface you want to color into two separate surfaces/quilts then apply different colors/textures to each surface/quilt
