SW07, any way to get closest distance between two surfaces in an assembly? I have two curved surfaces I am trying to get at, and it's hard to section the assembly in a manner to use the Measure Tool.

Don't have '07, but I'm assuming the measure tool isn't smart enough to do it.

A workaround would be to create a flat "shim" part of x thickness.

Insert the shim tangent to surface A.
Insert another copy of the shim tangent to surface B and parallel to the first shim.

Measure shim to shim and add 2x to get your spacing between the surfaces.

Not a "one-click" solution, but should work. [thumbsup2]

Hi, MadMango:

Pick your two surfaces and click "Measure" command. It will give you closest distance between the two surfaces. "Distance" is always closest or minimum by definition. This works with every version of SW.
