We use cloning a lot to generate new assemblies that are similiar to, or based on, previous assemblies. During the cloning operation we specify which items are to be retained (i.e. not cloned) and which items are to be created (using a REPLACE NUMBER RULE). HOWEVER, any new items created as part of that cloning operation are always generated at revision "A". Is there a way to clone an assembly of components but specify a particular revision at the same time? We've followed a convention for years where our prototype models have a revision beginning with X and then a number. I'd like to clone to X1 revision and not A revision.
I've tried editing a clone log file to be read for input, specifying the revision letters I need, but it didn't work. It ignored the revision letters and still created them at "A". If there's anyone else out there that can offer some insight I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!
