Hello!

I need help dimensioning my fillet weld to the left in attatched picture acc. some european standard, preferably, hence figuring out the required throat thickness.

So, my initial thought was that if i treat the Moment M, like a couple, my force in upper weld would be F = M/D, so, the weld length then taking this force would be pi*D/2, or something like this... Anyone has a solution ?

Thanks in advance,

Daniel

Is the weld subjected to forces along with the moment?

Take a look at Roy's page on welds, it has some helpful tables on figuring out weld stresses.
The eurocodes would not be helpful how to determine the weld size you need, only on the design criteria you need to satisfy. A design guide would be more useful.
