I've heard of both schools and they have a generally good reputation for engineering, in general. Your daughter should ask to speak with program specific people at the two schools to see how the Industrial Engineering departments stack up, since a general reputation isn't worth much in my mind. My opinion on name recognition is to avoid bad reputations but don't waste money (i.e. debt) chasing a name just for namesake, most employers aren't pulling out ranking tables. Co-ops are a strong plus in my mind since they can help your daughter really decide if the Industrial Engineering profession is to her liking and start building experience and contacts. However, don't overlook the fact that she'd be moving to Boston for 4 to 5 years - she should at least like Boston a little.
