Chicago Building Code

I found this on Wikipedia.

The City of Chicago remains the only municipality in America that continues to use a building code the city developed on its own as part of the Municipal Code of Chicago.

Can anyone confirm this?

Past projects in Chicago that I've done we've used their own special code. Not sure if they are the ONLY city to do this but they do use their own code...or have.

You might call them to verify the code.

How to determine if they are the only city to do so would be more difficult.

Both Los Angeles and San Francisco have their own building codes. They are essentially modifications above and beyond the state adopted building code (California Building Code) and therefore use that as the basis. Most cities we work with make minor modifications to the building code through their municipal codes.
