Hi,
I want to know the factor of safety for overturning I should take in consideration while designing the below frame if I used AISC ASD

I can't find a reference for 1.5

Can you elaborate on this project? The 1.5 factor is built into the load combinations you will use to solve for the answer.
The "free" version, and the type of question indicate that this is your homework. I believe the forum guidelines are specific
about this. You should check that out before responding or posting more.

Thanks. Best of luck.

Presuming this is connected to your previous thread, you may need to maintain a factor of safety of 2 per OSHA 1926.502(d)(15)(i) (presuming it would be classified as a Personal Fall Arrest System).

If OSHA doesn't apply, 1.5 is the typical factor of safety against structural overturning. I'm not aware of it being directly codified, except through the load combinations used to check against overturning (e.g. 0.6D + W). You would also be able to find it referenced in your foundations text.

ASCE-37 uses 1.5 for overturning and sliding
