Hii,

I need a cheap experimental modal analysis system which is working on PC. I would like to use miniature accelerometer and microphone connected to PC and a small shaker or impact hammer for exication.

1)Which software can you advise?
2) What kind of a connections/cards should I use on PC?
3) Other advises?

Thanks a lot.

Vozgul,

1) Software: Dasylab of National Instruments (free demo available that can do the trick)
2) Hardware: Daq Pc-card, make Iotech
3) Many others ;)

Thank you for your response. But I would be appreciated to hear about other advises from your side also.

Have you thought of using quadrature picking ?

For say 20 points and 3 modes, it is very practical and you don't need software, just a force hammer and an accel or, two accels.
