I have seen clear glass change cloudy for privacy, which I'm guessing is through some type of current application.

Can anyone adivse if this process (film) needs to be internal to two glass panes? Could the film be used by itself? Any ideas where to search such information.

I was inquiring about glass that I have seen in restaurants (more specifically bathrooms)that are clear see through until you shut the door, then the glass becomes cloudy. I wonder if their is a film between the glass layers? I wonder if this type of film can be used in other applications?

cev,

Thanks for the reply and suggestion about the electrochromic process. I will check into the applicability for our application.

Do you know of any other ways to control the amount of shading of a window by some form of control? Something like controlled polarization would be great.

Thanks

With your suggestions, I have done a bit of searching for electrochromic windows and now have a better understanding of how they work. What I'm now looking for is if this technology has to be sandwiched between glass panes or can this be done used as a film placed over a glass surface?

Thanks for your input.
