Changing Part Color in Assy 1

Here's your chance to make me look good to my boss.

When he tries to change colors of parts in Assy's the box is grayed out. What's more is that even if the 'preview' window shows various colors, when he opens the file everything is gray or black.

When a colleague of mine opens the same files on his own machine then color changing is fine.

Any ideas? I had a quick look in tools options but didn't see anything.

Did you look under (in V20) Tools--> Color Manager to ensure that "Show and allow assembly style overrides" is checked? What about "Show part face colors"?
