Hello, I have a dumb question here, is there away to change the cross-hatching of free-cutting brass from straight hatching to diagonal hating, like "Brass"? Thanks for any help.
I would love to change it permenently, so in the DBase. I am currently changing the drawings one at a time, which is getting to be a big waste of time..
Go to Tools > Options > System Options > Drawings > Are Hatch/Fill Select the Brass hatch pattern, and set the angle to whatever is needed, then hit OK to save & close.
The setting should be remembered between SW sessions.
Thanks for the response, but I already set that to ANSI33(Bronze/Brass), but Free-Cutting Brass & High Leaded Brass don't use the ANSI33 cross hatch, they use that rediculious straight hatch. Then I have to change it to the ANSI33 cross hatch, everytime. I can not change either in Material->CrossHatch, of the part file, the patern is greyed out to Brass, instead of ANSI33 and therefore can not be changed, believe me I have tried. Thanks anyway, looks like I will be stuck with those wrong patterns.
Well after looking everywhere I have concluded that there is only one way to get this this working correctly so I filed EC 1-3359303032 to make changing the default crosshatches for each material independently changeable. Thanks.
You can create a copy of the material in a custom materials library and change the cross hatch in the copy. Search for "Creating a Custom Material" in the help. You can then use the modified copy in your parts. This is not a clean as a mod to the built in database, but it might be better than having to change it in the drawing.
Thanks Eric as a last resort I may try it, but still it is something that should be modifiable so we can correct SW's mistakes. I wish that the thread tables were also modifiable because there are mistakes in there as well, That is one of the big things I miss from the day when we used UG.
