Dear ABAQUS users,

I am trying to change material properties of my model during the analysis. I use ABAQUS CAE 2021 and did this task as following:
1- I defined material properties changing using field variable
2- I defined amplitudes to control changing of these properties
3- From load module I defined predefined variable to link field variable with its amplitude

My question is have I done the correct procedures for this task? Also, I have a doubt about the “Magnitude”, “Field variable number” and “Distribution” fields in above dialogue box, can anyone explain to me what values I have to fill them especially the magnitude.

Dear FEA way, thank you for your response, honestly I used from the post you shared, but I still wonder about I posted above, especially the magnitude what is representing in this dialogue box ? should I leave one for all predefined fields that I will define ?

Yes, leave 1 there because the actual field variable values will come from amplitude and the actual material property values will come from field variable dependency defined in the material editor.

These approaches are equivalent. But as you can see in that linked thread, in the past it was not possible to complete this procedure without keywords and maybe that’s why it’s done this way in the referenced article.

Very thanks for your response dear [thumbsup2]
