I am trying to cut a tapped hole through a cylinder using the hole wizard. I created a plane at a 45 degree angle to my right plane (the cylinder extrudes up from the top plane) and the cylinders temporary axis. I then select the plane, select hole wizard, and place a point on the temp axis. I want to do a through all cut, but the problem is it is cutting in the wrong direction. When I click on the arrows next to the through all selection nothing happens. Is this a bug? SP3.1 Thanks

You cannot control which direction the hole wizard goes. It goes in the direction of the solid. SO you will have to make your plane on the outside of the part not in the middle of the part. Hole wizard holes are not like normal Cut-Extrudes it only goes in one direction.

It sounds like you have the 45° plane going through the centre of the part.

Check out faq559-1150

rjason71,

While I do not know if it is a bug. You can manually force the hole to go in the opposite direction by editing the revolve sketch. Make the dimensions driven so the sketch is undefined, then drag the sketch so it is going in the opposite direction. Make the dimensions driven again. You should also now be able to edit the feature without having the hole jump back to the other side.
