Change Background color in ST3 Part

New upgrade from V19 to ST3 here.
I wish to change the background color in my part template file in ST3. (gotta have some sense of familiarity)
I have been successful in changing the color in draft, but unable to get part to work....it maintains the white to black background.
Went through options/colors, but to no avail. Help.

seems a restart was required to solve this issue.
