dear all..
i got request for modelling CFD analysis for water flow in the sea water intake, in order to review vortex of flow water inside in the pump area (there are 5 pumps running parallel)..
what software shall be used..
thanks for your advise

Do you need software? What materials are you using for piping and pumps? Copper alloys? Keep your velocities very low. This is mandatory. You will not need CFD.

what software shall might be used..

for info
Are you sure a software is able to predict such complex effects correctly? Where are you going to find a user having proper background in inertial waterflow models? How are you going to validate the model? What is going to be level of accuracy and confidence of such model? How are you going to assess risks to a real facility caused by such engineering?
Note that for many cases CFD is no more than engaging multicolored pictures. Those do help in approval obtaining, but what are the real benefits?

See Hydraulic Institute Standards which shows what dimensions to use for a common pump intake basin.
