Hi, A quick query regarding CFA pile installation. We are looking to pile some bearing piles adjacent an existing but temporary secant pile wall. If it was assumed that all pile tolerances were out by the maximum allowable then this would lead to the new bearing piles needing to be moved further away with cost implications due to a greater number of piles etc.
The bearing piles would go much deeper than the existing piled wall and for various reasons would be fine with regards to capacity once installed.
If the existing piles were inclined towards the new piles and still within tolerance of 1:75, when installing the new bearing piles if they came in contact would the auger just follow the line of the existing piles? Or could the rig be adjusted to continue following the line of the existing pile? The new bearing pile would still of course be in tolerance etc. so it is mainly a question of installation.
