I have Pit Type Gas Carburizing Furnace. I am using Acetone + Methanol as carburizing fluid. For 16MnCr5, 1mm Case Depth, 50 - 55 HRC, what would be the cycle parameters for Temperature, mA / CP setting?, diffusion cycle, quenching temperature?
Looking for guidance.

Pit type Gas Carburizing furnace is quite obsolete. I actually saw two in an automobile company (their Heat Treatment Plant) at Kolkata, India in the late nineties. They were not using those. Sealed Quench furnaces were being used instead.

You have to use trial and error. First put some sample pieces, select an HT cycle and measure the case depth. Modify that to get the desired result.

Suppliers of 16MnCr5 (and other case hardening steels) give material specs after heat treatment on the MTR's.
They have all necessary experience to achieve the specific values that you want (and probably for similar material geometries too).
Talk to them in order to minimise the trial and error (however this is fairly straightforward). They will be happy to help, they don't want you to f* up their material.
