any tricks to capturing the animation of a mechanica analysis?

any suggestions for screen movie capture software if PTC doesnt have a solution to this?

In results File:Export:MPEG

This brings up the export to mpg format. Some tips: Use 'custom' settings. The max. allowable frame size is 600x480. Also since the number of animation frames has to be divisible by 4, choose 24, 28 or 30 fps (I use 24 FPS). This way the animation will 'loop' seamlessly when it's replayed. Also increase the number of frames from the default 8 to 12 or 24. Then set your time to give a couple of seconds, e.g. 48 frames = 2 s at 24 fps. Then export. wait for the mpeg to capture all the frames. Do not bring up other windows while this is going on; this can cause blanking of frames and flickering. Open the resulting mpg in media player and use ctrl-t to get it to repeat play.

No need for any third-party apps.

Is is possible to save those settings (frame rate, frame size,.....)? It is very annoying that you have to change them again and again, espacially when making lots of mpegs of - for instance - each modeshape of an analysis.

And why the 600x480 limit? Youcan hardlyread the info that is displayed.

I use CAMTASIA STUDIO, it is a very good software for capture mechanism movies! :)

Enjoy
