Dear colleagues,
Our company develops dynamometer systems. One of systems is based on a special liquid cooled motor. This motor is designed without terminal box, it has 3 power studs in the bottom part of the motor. We install this motor on a frame, that contains hydraulic cooling system. One of the frame compartments is dedicated to serve as a motor terminal box. In some cases, we mount external terminal box on the frame. We are not motor manufacturer, so we used the NEC requirements to minimal sizes of terminal boxes to meet a volume per current ratio. Such systems are operational in USA, and are accepted by customers. Now , we consider to build this system for Canadian customer. Question: do Canadian codes/regulations include similar to NEC requirements to motor terminal boxes?
