Hi,

I am designing the seismic upgrade of Heat Exchangers. I found that A490 structural steel bolt is used as SA490 for an example of connection in ASME section III-NF. However, the specification of SA490 can not be found in ASME section II part A and the allowable stress can not be fund in section II part D.

Is their any source available for the clearification of the above issue?

Thanks inadvance for any direction provided.

You have answered your own question. However, you do not state the application desired, there may be exceptions.

Hi, Deanc

I agree with you, Thanks. The examlpe is shown in ASME Section III NF-3224.1(a)(1); it is unsual.
