I have been trying to get information as to how you go about calculating the necessary space to house all your electrical telecommunications and IT requirements in a multistorery building. I would like to find out where the information is to be found.
Is a book or article that would be useful in leading me in the right direction?

The best books on the subject that I have found is the two volume BICSI Telecommunication Design Standard set. BICSI is an organization that sets wiring standards for the communications industry. They have chapters that help size wiring closets or rooms based on the square footage of each floor. It also sizes the incoming service room based on the total requirements. The set may be kind of pricy if this is just a one time thing for you, but if you will do this often it is worth the investment. Go to the BICSI web site for details.
