Dear all,

we had a requirement from customer to design the pressure vessels for 200000 hrs of operating life.

we have the materials using in the creep range, so how to calculate the allowable stress for ASME materials at 200000 hrs operation.

ASME Sec II D has 100 Favg% rupture stress at 100000 hrs operation, how to,extrapolated it to 200000 hrs?

best regards

Senthilkumar,
All you need to do is to determine the rupture allowable stress corresponding to 200,000 hrs. Follow API RP 530 for guidance. First, determine the LMP which is a function of Temperature and Design life and then determining the rupture stress corresponding to the calculated LMP from the given curve.
