This question relates to calculating heat capacity in refractory and insulation boards used in furnaces and ovens. I have the thermal conductivity data (Btu/in/sq.ft/F) data points and the density of the materials. If the manufacturer does not show the heat capacity in Btu/lb DegreeF of the insulation what is the formula and method to calculate it?

Do some research, you'll find your values for Cp's.

If a manufacturer does not give the information you need to do your work, call them and request it.

Good luck,
