Hi all,
Recently had foundation measurements taken, but guy didn't calculate deflection or tilt %. With the attached information, could somebody help me calculate the two? If it helps, I know the top left corner of the garage down to the bottom right corner of the house is 88 feet.

Thanks for any help.

There is no one answer to either of your requests. There are various slopes with various high spots and low spots. Deflection is not an appropriate thing to ask of this survey.

If you were happy with a previous report, why don't you contract with the previous engineer to help you out?

What concerns me is why you would get 4" of settlement with a pile foundation?

Are these wood pile, augercast, or pipe pile?

Is the settlement occurring above the pile in rotted members?

SteelPE,

Previous report was done last year by an engineering firm before we bought the house. The current report is from a foundation company.

msquared48,

Current piers are cable lock from Olshan. Our foundation is a post tension concrete slab in TX, so there shouldn't be any rot. We recently had a very dry couple of months and didn't water our foundation properly.

Thank you for the responses

I worked on a job here in NC where Olshan installed some of those cable lock piers. They could not push them more than a couple of feet into the ground. The house continued to move. Olshan eventually went belly up in our area.
