I'd like to take some technical information direction (books, papers...) about cable stayed flare design, in order to study it for a near project. Thanks.
Hi orama
I have just seen your posting. Hope this is not too late. This is an topic that also interests me from a mechanical point of view. I looked for similar information in the past, but have not found much. Most cover process design. The design is similar to design a tall tower for wind/earthquake loads, however additional consideration is required for thermal expansion, pre-stress in the cables. etc. In my previous job we installed a 90m high flare stack (NAO type).Mechanical design by ST HUDSON Engineers inc, Camdem NJ using a combination of hand calc's & structural software.
Forget that. Recently I found Excel spread sheet programme ("Guy wire stack design") from Archon Engeering (just type Archon Engeering in your browser).Demo is available, limited to 1" dia. cable & one plane view. This is good & can be purchased for less $50.

I hope this helps. Please let me know progress on your project and share software. I maybe able to help with other things, pressure vessels, piping, welding, etc
