Cable car failure in Italy.

Being reported, bit confusing if there was another car involved which became detached.

And it looks very similar to this thread from 2021

 
This one looks like the main support cable broke on the line with the cabin which fell to the ground. As the two cars are linked by the drive cable, the second car down the bottom probably had its emergency brake activated and then was stuck until they got people on board and winched the people down.

No details I can find of the cable end or break.

It's complicated by a similar crash back in 2021 which looks the same but in that case the traction wire broke and if memory serves me the emergency brake was held open after testing and not reactivated.

No idea how often or if at all they actually check or replace the main cable. Italian resorts have a bit of a habit of doing things cheaply.
