Dear All,

My client is asking to reveice construction drawings with a c.a of 3mm, now if i'm correct this means i'have to enlarge my wt with +3mm, pls. advise.

Sorry not very clear....was there any original corrosion allowance??? there must have been something....need more details, and your "usable" wall thickness will decrease 3 mm, and your required wall thickness will increase 3 mm...

Corrosion Allowance is pretty well defined in the ASME code. No it doesn't mean that you must enlarge your wall thickness (many of us here get really annoyed at telephone-text posting), I don't even know how you would do that.

What it means is that you need to subtract the corrosion allowance from the actual wall thickness when you are doing your MAWP calcs.
