Hi I am new to this forum but desperatly looking for help.

Tried to switch on the laser ( bystronic bystar 3015 ) after 2 weeks of shutdown and we had a mess, there was condenation in the tube area and had a few arcs that damaged some seals and ceramics, we replaced all the damages seals and ceramics and now running a vacum test. The pressure drops to 1 in a matter of 2 - 3 minutes but does not hold, after switching the vacuum pump off the pressure rises very slowly, 1 millibar every 10 - 15 minuets. Tried starting the laser with this and i keep getting overcurrent desk.

Would such a small leak do this?

If yes how can i detect such a leak?

Thanks in advance as i am now desperate and bystronic are not willing to send a tech over due to the covid situation.

is any water coming out of the drain on the high voltage cabinet? Does the current read 0 when you turn the laser control on?

krugtech good morning

no water coming out of the HV cabinet and yes the laser power does read 0 when the laser control is on and after a few seconds pays between -3 and 1

you have either a short, a bad rectifier or a bad transformer in the HV cabinet. Also- That cabinet can kill you a few different ways.

Thanks will have a look at those.

What about the Vacuum? would that worry you that we are not managing to keep the machine at a constant pressure when running the test?

1 mb in 15 minutes isn't good but it should start, unless it's moisture from a broke heat exchanger. did you see "overcurrent tube"?

So we ran more tests today and seems that now the vacum issue is resolved, we had a leaking tube, but we cannot get overcurrent deak. Would anyone have the schematics for the HV cabinet?

do you see the plasma tubes try to come on before you get the error? "overcurrent desk" is the current sensing relay kicking on that's attached to the rectifier. be careful in there, discharge the cap, make sure it stays discharged and make sure it's locked out. Do not go in there unless you are versed n high voltage. I wouldn't go in there unless I was getting paid really really well.
